Service Club to hold Tuesday meeting

Fairmont Service Club will meet noon Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the Best Western Hotel in Fairmont. The program this week will feature Lenny Tvedten, Executive Director of the Martin County Historical Society who will be presenting military videos. 2023 Martin County 4-H Presentation Day on Tuesday

Calling all 4-H supporters, alumni, parents or grandparents. Come watch the Martin County 4-H Presentation Day beginning 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the Fairmont Opera House, 45 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. Presentation Day is a public showcase where 4-H’ers can model or perform their exhibit entries before the fair. Summer Shindig at the Fairmont Library

Join library staff for a Summer Shindig event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at the Fairmont Library. All ages are welcome. Enjoy live, interactive music performances from Siama’s Congo Music. There will be a petting zoo, pony rides, and food trucks for lunch. Please come out to celebrate summer fun.

Human Rights committee meets Thursday

The Human Rights Committee of Martin County will meet 11 a.m. Thursday,

Aug. 10, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 102 N. Park St. in Fairmont.

Following the guidelines from the nationally respected Minnesota Department of

Human Rights, they strive to encourage respect and maintain dignity for all the

residencies of Martin County. Everyone is welcome to join them.

Class of 1962 to meet

Fairmont High School class of 1962, spouses and friends, will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Pizza Ranch in Fairmont. All classmates are encouraged to attend.

Blue Earth Quilt EXPO planned next weekend

The Blue Earth Quilt EXPO will be held Aug. 11-13 at the Blue Earth Area High School. Their quilt display is open to all area quilters. Please consider bringing a quilt, old or new, just as long as it hasn’t been displayed at the Blue Earth EXPO in a previous year. Quilts may be dropped off at Heartland Embroidery or Michele’s Quilting in Blue Earth, or brought to BEA High School between 9 and 10 a.m. on Aug. 10th.
