ATV/SXS poker run this Saturday
TRUMAN — Truman Days organizers seek someone to head up the little Mr. and Ms. Truman pageant for the celebration in 2024, which is Truman’s 125th birthday. Information from past pageants is available to help with planning. Those interested should contact Theresa at (507) 236-3455. Please consider even if you are a high school senior, college student or a grandparent. This is for you to see the smiles you will create.
Truman Fire Department Relief Association ATV/SXS poker run begins 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, with registration at the fire hall, with the ride getting underway around 11 a.m. Trailer parking is in the THS parking lot. For questions, call Ron at (952) 201-3095 or Brandon at (507) 236-4064.
Truman Lions Club Burger Bash will be held 5-7 p.m. Saturday, May 18. at the Truman Community Building. Enjoy a delicious hamburger, condiments, chips, beans and a beverage. Take-outs are available. Proceeds will be going to the Truman Days Parade. T-shirts will be available, also Christmas tree ornaments, coffee, mugs, shot glasses and the raffle tickets. Please come support Truman Days. Proceeds support our events.
May 18 is Armed Forces Day where today and every day we honor the members of our Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Space Force, National Guard and Reserve forces, which represent the best of our nation. We appreciate you answering the call to serve and defend our constitution.
Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 20. If you have any ideas, concerns or questions, please contact Truman City Hall at (507) 776-7951 to be put on the agenda.
If you would like your event, birthday, anniversary, church or school news that appears in the Sentinel every Thursday, please text me at (507) 236-9487, a picture of a poster is even good. I need information by noon on Mondays. This is done at no charge.
A Memorial Day breakfast will be held 6:30-9 a.m. at the Lewisville Legion. This is a free-will offering with proceeds benefiting youth and veterans program.
A Memorial Day program will be held beginning 10 a.m. on May 27, in the elementary school auditorium. Since it has been a few years they need to get updated information for their roll call. If you have a veteran family member who has passed on, please contact Pat Jones at (507) 236-4433 so your loved one can be included in the roll call.
A salad luncheon will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Memorial Day, May 27, in the cafeteria at Truman Public School. This is a free will donation. Meat will be furnished by the pool and donation of salads would be appreciated. Please let Kirsten know at (507) 236-4436 if you will donate a salad.
