Prairie Star Quilters to meet Monday

The Prairie Star Quilt Guild will meet Monday, May 13, at the Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave. in Fairmont. The quilt board will meet 12:30 p.m. and the regular membership meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. The program will be a Quilt Shop Trunk Show. Remember to bring your 12 1/2” blocks for a Veterans Quilt and also there will be a 5″ square fabric exchange, you will take as many as you bring. Sew and share will follow the meeting. Chubb House holds Wednesday coffee

The public is invited to join Chubb House committee members for coffee and treats beginning 10 a.m. every Wednesday morning at the Chubb House, 209 Lake Ave. in Fairmont. Stop by each Wednesday and appreciate one of Fairmont’s historical treasures.

T-Ball registration closes next week

T-Ball registration for instructional league for girls and boys, ages 4 (as of Jan. 1, 2024) to entering grade 3, will close on May 16. T-ball program is perfect for a child who wants to have fun, make new friends and be introduced to baseball. The program stresses teamwork over competition. Practices/games are held 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning June 4 to July 11 at FHS football practice field. No T-ball July 2 & 4). The fee is $40. Adult volunteer coaches are needed. A coaches meeting will be held 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, on the field. Pre-registration with payment is requested at Fairmont Community Education and Recreation (CER) located at Southern MN Educational Campus (SMEC), 115 S. Park St., Suite 131, in Fairmont.
