Angel K. Bettin, 41, of Sherburn was convicted of issue dishonored check-offense; fined $285, sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 90 days for one year, one year supervised probation, complete Lutheran Social Services financial counseling program, no same or similar, pay restitution, no alcohol/controlled substance use, no alcohol/controlled substance possession, random testing, follow all state and federal criminal laws, report to agent as directed, advise agent prior to changing employment and/or residence, cooperate and be truthful with agent in all matters, notify agent if arrested and/or issued a summons, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, don’t ship/transport/possess/receive firearms or ammunition.
Tara L. Kalash, 39, of Estherville, Iowa, was convicted of driving while impaired-alcohol concentration 0.08 within two hours; fined $810, sentenced to jail 365 days, stayed 335 days for two years, credit for time served two days, serve as work release if eligible, serve with home detention/electronic monitoring if eligible, two years supervised probation, complete chemical assessment, follow recommendations of evaluation, no alcohol/controlled substance use, no alcohol/controlled substance possession, random testing, continue in therapy until appropriately discharged, disclose all prescription medications to the probation agent, attend MADD impact panel, remain law-abiding, follow all state and federal criminal laws, report to agent as directed, advise agent prior to changing employment and/or residence, cooperate and be truthful with agent in all matters, notify agent if arrested and/or issued a summons, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, don’t ship/transport/possess/receive firearms or ammunition, sign all releases of information. Additional charges of driving while impaired-alcohol concentration 0.08 within two hours, driving while under the influence of alcohol, failure of driver to carry proof of insurance when operating a vehicle, and driving after revocation, were all dismissed.
