Henderson, Fothergill pace North Union’s opening golf win
EAGLE GROVE, Iowa — Drew Henderson and Teagon Fothergill packed a potent 1-2 scoring punch to power the North Union Warriors to a season-opening Top of Iowa Conference golf victory over the Eagle Grove Eagles on Thursday.
Henderson, a freshman, carded a medalist nine-hole round of 39 to pace North Union’s 173-204 triumph over Eagle Grove.
Fothergill, a senior, claimed runner-up individual honors by producing a score of 41 for the visiting Warriors.
Senior Chase Cummins fired a 42 for North Union, while sophomore Carter Martens completed the counting marks with a 51.
Sophomore Caden Walders contributed a total of 53, while sophomore Koen Zotz chipped in a 58.
No individual scores were available for Eagle Grove.
North Union (1-0) competes in a triangular against Forest City and Garner-Hayfield/Ventura at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday at Garner Golf & Country Club.
