Fairmont Methodist to hold free Sunday meal

Fairmont United Methodist Church, located at 119 E. 2nd St. (corner of Park & 2nd Streets) in Fairmont, invites the community to a FREE meal of hot cheesy chicken sandwiches, homemade salads, top-your-own ice cream sundae and beverage this Sunday. The church service will begin at a special time of 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 28. The meal will be served immediately after the service from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (or until the food is gone) downstairs in the fellowship hall. Handicap parking is available on the street near the church’s 2nd Street entrance, and also in the 3rd Street municipal parking lot near the church’s rear door. There is ample parking in the city municipal parking lots on 2nd Street and 3rd Street or on the street. An elevator is located at the top of the ramp inside the 2nd Street entrance, and inside the rear door. Please take the elevator down to Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome.

Low Vision Support Group meets Monday

CREST is holding a Low Vision Support Group that provides reassurance and assistance to people living with vision related problems. You are free to share what’s bothering you and learn about ways to combat and/or live with low vision. You are not alone. Working together can make our lives much brighter. The next Low Vision Support Group meeting will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 29, at the CREST office, 820 Winnebago Ave. in Fairmont. The guest speaker will be Meghan Wendt from the Minnesota State Services for the Blind. Please consider sitting in on this meeting if you are experiencing some sort of visual problem. No registration is necessary and refreshments will be served following the meeting.

Service Club to meet Tuesday

The Fairmont Service Club will hold its next weekly meeting noon Tuesday, April 30, at the Best Western in Fairmont. Featured speaker will be County Commissioner, Kathy Smith. Guests are always welcome. With questions, call Lorin Pollock at (507) 230-4800.

Chubb House holds Wednesday coffee

The public is invited to join Chubb House committee members for coffee and treats beginning 10 a.m. every Wednesday morning at the Chubb House, 209 Lake Ave. in Fairmont. Stop by each Wednesday and appreciate one of Fairmont’s historical treasures.
