Jaguars best Cyclones; Raiders top Mavericks in Valley Showcase

LAKE CRYSTAL — Adam Heckman delivered yet another double-double performance to guide the Truman/Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain Jaguars to a 61-57 victory over the St. Clair Cyclones during Valley Conference Showcase basketball action Saturday in Lake Crystal.

Adam Heckman connected on 8 of 11 field goals overall to produce 23 points to complement grabbing 10 rebounds. The Jaguars’ post player also rejected four shots.

Owen Wolter contributed 13 points, four assists and three steals to the Jaguars’ game-clinching second-half run, while Cayden Fischer supplied 11 points and garnered six boards.

Matt Heckman delivered nine points and three assists, while Carter Spear added five assists and three steals for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars (18-6) play host to Nicollet (17-5) on Tuesday night in Northrop for the final Valley Conference Showcase game.

Nicollet 74, Martin County West 54 — Riley Hulke poured in a game-best 33 points to help engineer the Raiders’ 20-point triumph over the Mavericks during Valley Conference Showcase action Saturday in Lake Crystal.

Wyatt Geistfeld produced a double-double performance of 15 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Mavericks’ effort, while teammate Zach Anderson collected 13 points, distributed four assists and pulled down six boards.

Tanner Sinn chipped in seven points and 10 rebounds for MCW.

Shane Stevensen erupted for 23 points to help pace Nicollet’s winning performance.

Martin County West (18-6) travels to New Ulm tonight to face Minnesota Valley Lutheran.
