FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Cardinals volleyball lineup compiled a 1-3 record during the Tri-City United Invitational on Saturday in Montgomery.

Cassidy Schultz pounded seven kills and recorded three blocks to help pace Fairmont’s official 23-25, 25-14 win over Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.

Sabrina Segar doled out seven set assists, went 10-for-10 serving and made six digs for the Cardinals, while Chloe Murphy tallied nine digs to complement three aces behind a 12-for-12 serving performance.

Andrea Westcott dished out five set assists and went 5-for-5 serving for Fairmont, Cambrie Anderson went 7 of 8 at the line, while Jen Moeller was 6 of 6 serving against JWP.

Despite nine kills from Natalie Tonne, Fairmont dropped a 25-23, 25-21 decision to host TCU.

Segar distributed 11 set assists and went 7 of 7 serving, Madysen Allen made seven digs, while Schultz added five kills.

Kylee Harder dished out three set assists and smacked four kills for the Cardinals, while Cambrie Anderson went 7 of 7 serving and added three kills.

Sophie Johnson served at a 12-for-12 clip, Westcott doled out five set assists, while Moeller and Murphy each went 5-for-5 serving.

Tonne cranked six kills and Segar dished out eight set assists to go with six digs, but the Cardinals lost a 25-14, 25-21 decision to Central Minnesota Christian.

Sophie Johnson topped Fairmont’s serving with a 9-for-9 effort, while Cambrie Anderson and Moeller each went 6 of 6 at the line. Moeller also added six digs, while Westcott had four set assists.

New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva outslugged Fairmont, 25-17, 27-25, in tournament action.

Schultz drilled eight kills and Tonne pounded down seven more to top the Cardinals, while Allen and Johnson tallied eight digs apiece.

Anderson served at a 13-for-13 pace, Harder generated five kills, Westcott doled out nine set assists, Moeller delivered seven digs, while Segar chipped in 10 set assists and 7-for-8 serving.

Fairmont (4-14) travels to St. James Area on Tuesday.
