Fairmont 14U softball won two and lost two, good for fifth place, at the Southern Star League tournament Saturday and Sunday.

Fairmont beat Richland 3-0 in its first game.

Allison Janssen pitched five shutout innings, allowing three hits and four walks, while striking out five.

Kynlie Anderson had two hits, while Paige Hainy and Johanna Petschke each had one.

Lake Crystal Blue beat Fairmont 4-2 in Fairmont’s second game.

Mandy Pytleski pitched five innings and allowed six hits and four walks, while striking out four.

Ashley Muller had a double and a single, while Nevaeh Rahm had two hits, Ava Terfehr had a triple and Pytleskie hit a double.

Fairmont beat St. James 10-0 on the strength of a four-inning perfect game from Janssen.

She struck out five batters in the perfect outing.

Anderson and Ava Gillmore each had two hits, while Terfehr hit a double.

Fairmont went to extra innings in game four, but lost 6-1 to Lake Crystal Black.

Fairmont was behind 1-0 through the first five innings, but came back to tie the matchup at 1 in the sixth.

Rahm pitched all seven innings, holding Lake Crystal Black to one run through the first six, before the Lake Crystal Black offense got to her in the seventh. Pytleski led the offense with a double.
