U13 girls soccer posts three shutouts in a row

FAIRMONT — The Car Parts Direct U13 girls soccer team of Fairmont posted three consecutive shutouts during recent Fairmont Soccer Association spring/summer traveling league action.

Goalkeeper Madi Stromberg produced seven saves to pace Fairmont’s 1-0 victory over the Minnesota Rush on Tuesday in Rochester.

Elayna Anderson delivered the game-winning penalty kick for Car Parts Direct.

Netminder Kathryn Ogden tallied one save, while Brylee Miller collected a hat trick to power Fairmont to a 3-0 victory over Albert Lea on June 19 in Albert Lea.

Camryn Clow and Anderson each distributed an assist in the winning performance.

Stromberg turned away nine shots on goal, while Anderson generated three goals and one assist to highlight a 4-0 decision over Red Wing on June 18 in Red Wing.

Kaitlyn Hinz chipped in a goal for Car Parts Direct, while Miller added an assist in the win.

U18 Girls Division

St. Peter 3, Saxton Family Partnership 1 — St. Peter netted a two-goal victory over Fairmont on June 18 at Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont.

Rayah Quiring converted Sami Lenort’s pass into Saxton Family Partnership’s lone goal on the contest.

Netminder Cadence Becker turned away nine St. Peter shots on goal.

U12 Girls Division

Hefty Seeds 3, New Prague 3 (tie) — Fairmont and New Prague battled to a 3-all deadlock during action June 19 at Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont.

Nicole Zebedee, Isabella Schroeder and Grace Terry each tallied a goal for Hefty Seeds, while Cadence Leiding dished out an assist.

Elsa Thompson and Grace Terry combined between the pipes for 11 saves for Fairmont.

Marshall 4, Hefty Seeds 0 — Marshall unleashed 22 shots on goal to exit its home field with a 4-0 win over Fairmont on June 12.

Elsa Thompson and Grace Terry each turned away 11 Marshall shots on goal.

U11 Girls Division

Faribault 4, Madsen Land Surveying 2 — Faribault doubled the score on Fairmont during soccer action Wednesday in Faribault.

Frankie Martin and Abbie Simpson each produced one goal and one helper to pace Madsen Land Surveying.

Morgan Martinson and Maia Goerndt combined to record 11 saves for Fairmont.

Mankato 3, Madsen Land Surveying 0 — Mankato chalked up a shutout over Fairmont during action Tuesday at Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont.

Morgan Martinson and Ida Rohman combined forces to deny nine Mankato shots on goal.

Owatonna 3, Madsen Land Surveying 1 — Owatonna slid by Fairmont by a two-goal margin on June 18 at Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont.

Abbie Simpson produced an unassisted goal to account for Madsen Land Surveying’s lone score.

Ida Rohman and Meghan Madsen combined to deny nine total shots on goal.

St. Peter 2, Madsen Land Surveying 1 — St. Peter squeezed by Fairmont, 2-1, during soccer action June 13 at Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont.

Bel Lutterman cashed in Frankie Martin’s assist to account for Madsen Land Surveying’s lone goal.

Ida Rohman and Meghan Madsen netted a total of five stops for Fairmont.

U18 Boys Division

New Ulm 4, Bank Midwest 1 — New Ulm collected a three-goal win over Fairmont on Wednesday at Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont.

Kaleb Hoye tallied an unassisted goal for Bank Midwest, while goalkeeper Alex Wannarka made six saves.

Worthington 2, Bank Midwest 0 — Worthington shut out Bank Midwest during soccer action Tuesday in Worthington.

Alex Wannarka turned away 13 shots on goal for Fairmont.

Bank Midwest 3, Willmar 3 (tie) — Kaleb Hoye delivered two goals and doled out an assist to help Bank Midwest earn a tie with Willmar last Saturday in Willmar.

Calvin Guritz accounted for Bank Midwest’s other goal, while Alex Wannarka turned away eight shots on goal.

U14 Boys Division

New Ulm 3, Lawn Solutions 0 — New Ulm blanked Fairmont during soccer action Tuesday in New Ulm.

Goalkeeper Wyatt Luhmann amassed an incredible 24 saves for Lawn Solutions.

Lawn Solutions 7-6, Willmar 0-0 — Fairmont combined for 13 goals and posted back-to-back shutouts in sweeping a rare doubleheader from Willmar on June 20 at Kot Soccer Complex.

Brock Lutterman and Matthew Kotewa each generated two goals to top Lawn Solutions’ 7-0 victory.

Jack Sadusky contributed one goal and two assists to the win, while Douglas Garcia Lopez and Carson Pomerenke chipped in one goal apiece.

Pomerenke and Wyatt Luhmann combined for nine saves to share the shutout for Lawn Solutions.

Kotewa, Garcia Lopez and Adrian Sanchez each collected one goal and one assist to pace Fairmont’s 6-0 victory.

Isaiah Lebbi, Dylan Pluim and Lutterman each scored once for Fairmont, while netminder Ethan Pockrus tallied one save.
