U15 girls soccer kicks off month with two wins

FAIRMONT — The Associate Optometry U15 girls soccer team of Fairmont kicked off June with back-to-back victories during Fairmont Soccer Association summer traveling league action.

Anna Utermarck scored two goals, while Emma Scheppmann distributed three assists to power Fairmont to a 5-1 triumph over Owatonna on Tuesday.

Alexis Hinz, Cayla Phinney-Colby and Alexis Rojo contributed goals to the win, while teammates Kate Busche, Gracie Boerner and Selma Bleess doled out assists.

Abby Cihoski and Hannah Bergt combined for seven saves for Associate Optometry.

Phinney-Colby tallied two goals and Utermarck dished out a pair of assists to help steer Fairmont to a 4-0 victory over Austin on Monday.

Busche and Scheppmann chipped in one goal each, while Rojo doled out an assist. Cihoski and Bergt combined for four stops in goal.

U12 Girls

Waseca 5, Hefty Seeds 3 — Waseca outlasted Fairmont during U12 soccer action May 29.

Elsa Thompson tallied two goals for Hefty Seeds before switching to goalie en route to 10 saves.

Grace Terry added one goal after generating three saves in goal.

U11 Girls

Madsen Land Surveying 7, St. Peter 4 — Frankie Martin and Maia Goerndt each tallied hat tricks to power Fairmont to a triumph over St. Peter on June 1.

Abbie Simpson netted one goal and one assist for Madsen Land Surveying, while Morgan Martinson doled out two helpers. Bel Lutterman, Madisyn Peyman and Josie Moeller added one assist each.

Ida Rohman and Meghan Madsen combined for six saves between the pipes for Fairmont.

Madsen Land Surveying 4, Kasson-Mantorville 3 — Maia Goerndt collected two goals and two assists to help Fairmont edge K-M on May 30 in Kasson.

Abbie Simpson and Madisyn Peyman tallied one goal apiece, while Shari Cruz and Mataya Weber had one assist each.

Ida Rohman and Meghan Madsen combined for three stops for Fairmont.

U18 Boys

Bank Midwest 5, Hutchinson 2 — Josh Bergt netted three goals to steer Fairmont to a three-goal win over Hutchinson on Sunday.

Kaleb Hoye tallied one goal and one assist, Ryan Hennager doled out two assists and Calvin Guritz chipped in one goal to pace Bank Midwest’s win.

Netminder Bryant Armitage made seven saves to pocket the win.

Austin 8, Bank Midwest 0 — Austin coasted to a shutout over Fairmont on Sunday.

Ben Heinze and Alex Wannarka combined for nine stops for Bank Midwest.

St. Peter 2, Bank Midwest 1 — St. Peter edged Bank Midwest on May 25 in St. Peter.

Campbell Krusemark converted Kaleb Hoye’s pass into Fairmont’s only goal, while netminder Alex Wannarka made four saves.

Austin 3, Bank Midwest 0 — Austin zipped Bank Midwest on May 19.

Alex Wannarka tallied 19 saves for Fairmont.

U14 Boys

Lawn Solutions 6, St. Peter 0 — Isaiah Lebbi erupted for three goals and three assists to engineer Fairmont’s 6-0 rout of St. Peter on Tuesday.

Jack Sadusky, Aaron Graplar and Dillon Pluim each netted one goal for Lawn Solutions, while Aiden Nelson chipped in an assist.

Goalie Wyatt Luhmann recorded eight saves to earn the shutout for Fairmont.

Worthington 6, Lawn Solutions 1 — Worthington downed Fairmont on May 23 at Kot Soccer Complex.

Matthew Kotewa tallied an unassisted goal for Lawn Solutions, while Carson Pomerenke and Jorvik Jensen combined for five saves between the pipes.

U12 Boys

Mankato 4, Rosen’s Diversified Inc. 2 — Mankato doubled the score on Fairmont on May 23 in Mankato.

Angel Sanchez delivered a pair of unassisted scores for Rosen’s Diversified, while Lucas Rosburg made 10 saves in goal.
