2AA girls golf on Wednesday

NEW PRAGUE — The Section 2AA girls golf tournament’s opening round on Friday was postponed due to soggy playing conditions at New Prague Golf Club.

The Blue Earth Area Bucs and the rest of the sectional field will tee off at 9 a.m. Wednesday in New Prague.

FHS baseball hosts playoffs

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Cardinals will play host to three Section 3AA baseball playoff games today at Herb Wolf Field in Fairmont.

No. 2-seeded Fairmont squares off against No. 7-seeded Jackson County Central in an 11 a.m. first-round postseason contest before No. 3-seeded Windom Area battles No. 6-seeded St. James Area in a 1 p.m. opening-round game.

The winners of the first two games will square off in a second-round contest at around 3:30 p.m., with the opening-round losers being eliminated.

MCW hits road for sectionals

LUVERNE — The No. 8-seeded Martin County West Mavericks open the Section 3AA postseason against the top-seeded Luverne Cardinals at 11 a.m. today in Luverne.

The No. 4-seeded Pipestone Area Arrows then take on the No. 5-seeded Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers in a 1 p.m. first-round sectional game in Luverne.

The winners of the first two games will clash in a second-round game at around 3:30 p.m., with the opening-round losers being eliminated.
