Senf, DeWar fuel FHS golfers’ wins

ST. JAMES — Tanner DeWar and Bergen Senf both shot 44s to capture individual medalist honors as the Fairmont Cardinals boys and girls golf teams competed against St. James’ incomplete team on Friday.

DeWar’s 44 helped the Cardinals boys team to a total of 183. Bryan Grotte and Tom Havnen, who birdied the last hole, each chipped in 46s.

Colby Grotte shot a 47 for the team’s final counting score. Carter Lloyed penciled a 56 and Alexander Moeller ended the day with a 64.

Clay Winrich shot a 52 for St. James.

Senf birdied the second hole and recorded two pars for her final score of 44. Maggy Totzke shot a 51, while Taylor Eicholz and Maddy Pierce produced a 54 and a 55, respectively for a team total of 204.

Alexa Mosloski carded a 59 and Isabell Geiger recorded a 64 for FHS.

St. James golfer Hannah Peterson generated a nine-hole score of 58.

Fairmont boys tee off in the Big South Conference Meet at 9 a.m., while the girls start at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Worthington.
