Heritage Acres gears up for event This Sunday is Heritage Acre’s annual Threshing Day. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include a large variety of family-friendly activities. Interest in bike program taking off Kids Just Want to Have Fun, a subcommittee of Project 1590, has proposed a bike share program. The program would add five bikes to the community that could be shared free of charge. This sounds like a great idea and a fun way to get more peope to use some of Fairmont’s many trails. To The Editor: August 9th is a doubly important date for our democracy. It’s a chance to vote in a special congressional election and a primary election. First District voters have a clear choice for Congress: Jeff Ettinger. Jeff Ettinger is the candidate who will work to end the divisiveness in Washington and with his business experience, will do his best to combat rising prices. Bonk officially retires Fairmont’s long-time track and field coach, Bob Bonk, has announced his retirement. Bonk’s impressive career spans over half a century and over that time he’s had a positive impact on countless young athletes.
