Announcing Hay Day VBS To the Editor: Friday, Aug. 5, and Saturday, Aug. 6, Christian Church of Fairmont is having an amazing FREE event for kids, 3 years old to kids graduating 5th grade. It will be two days of worship, learning, fun, crafts, and food. Our theme this year is Hay Day “Growing in Friendship With Jesus!” On Friday, we will start at 5:30 p.m. with a free meal for the kids and we will be done for the night at 8 p.m. On Saturday, we will start at 9 a.m. then a lunch before the afternoon where will have a bouncy house set up and games and songs for a fun celebration ...

Relist wolves on ESA To the Editor: I am a senior citizen and I care about North American wildlife, especially the predators that are so important to keeping healthy ecosystems in our continent. The predator of most concern to me right now is the gray wolf. Right now, wolves are being killed in large numbers in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, the states of the Northern Rockies. Today, hunters from Montana can sit just feet outside of Yellowstone National Park and use bait and recorded wolf calls to lure wolves out of the park to be shot. Ceylon ready for broadband project The Ceylon City Council has been working with Federated Rural Electric Association on a project to install fiber internet to the city’s residents. This is an exciting project because it will provide the residents of Ceylon with some of the best internet access in the county.
