Most bang for the buck

To the Editor:

Gyms: Gyms are a great and healthy way to get out of the house year round. Yes, there are weights and machines. There are group activities like yoga and karate too. You never know who you might meet there.

Competition: The City says they won’t harm the current gyms. Who will be using the gym equipment the City plans on installing.

Subsidized memberships:

The City has never offered either gym money to pay for underserved people in the community. Why not? How much could it cost? $10,000 per year?

Pool: We had a pool but then after a few years it was filled with dirt. What happened there? It seems people should know the history.

YMCA:

A number of Ys are closing in the region. A famous one, the Marsh, which was there since the 80’s is closing just two years after being donated to the YMCA. The Y says the COVID epidemic is the fault. Rumor has it the Y suffers from poorly trained staff.

Live Fit is celebrating record high memberships. No sign of COVID problems there.
