Shepherd’s In preps for fundraiser Shepherd’s In will have its first Tour of Tables fundraiser on March 4. The Fairmont-based organization is raising funds to rent or purchase a home for people in need of a place to sleep. The founder of Shepherd’s In, Curtis Moeckle, said since 2019 they’ve helped 70 people in Martin County get off of the streets. FHS ramps up tutoring program Fairmont High School has increased its tutoring program and currently has 16 students working as tutors this semester. The program also greatly helps students who are English Language Learners. What a great program to bring upper classmen to the aid of younger students. Kids against hunger Pack To the Editor: I just went to an amazing event. Singing, dancing, comedy, instruments, even painting. It was incredible and done entirely by high school students. What was this event? The Kids Against Hunger Variety Show. The students who participated were raising awareness about hunger in out local community and the world. They collected a free will offering to help raise money for the Kids Against Hunger Pack. Isn’t Minnesota great? To the Editor: On Feb. 1, the Sentinel proudly displayed front page headlines “Walz signs broad abortion rights bill.” So, now it is official, the democratic party is the party of abortion. What the article failed to mention is that because of this new law, they can legally kill helpless babies.
