Clothing Swap To the Editor: Christian Church of Fairmont is hosting their third clothing swap from 9 a.m. to noon on April 22, at the Christian Church of Fairmont located at 625 Johnson St. in Fairmont. Please come and bring your kids old clothes that they no longer fit into, and pick up some new clothes for them at our swap. We are swapping spring and summer clothes, and also taking any sports equipment. Please don’t bring any heavy coats or winter gear, and no toys please. To the Editor: Fox Lake Township, along with area townships, encourage all area residents to attend their annual meeting on Tuesday, March 14. Fox Lake Township meeting is 4-5 p.m. with voting to follow from 5-8 p.m. for one supervisor position. We encourage you to attend your local annual meeting to find out what happened last year and what we are planning for this year. Also we want your input. FHS plans another polar plunge This coming Monday, Fairmont High School will host another polar plunge. This fun event raises funds for Special Olympics. It seems like there’s already a good number of people, both students, staff and community members, who are registered for the event. March is FoodShare Month in Minnesota and Heaven’s Table Food Shelf in Fairmont is part of this statewide food and funds drive which runs from Feb. 27 to April 9, 2023. Belief in others restored To the Editor: On Sunday, Feb. 26, I was traveling through Fairmont. I first stopped at the Walmart store, then proceeded through town. At the intersection by the Dollar Tree, it appeared a person was stuck in the snow with an electric wheelchair. I circled around the block to help, arriving to find three other people had already stopped. At Walmart, a gentleman was wheeling a cart and assisting someone in a wheelchair.
