Chamber names new president Congratulations to Kandi Menne for being named the Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce’s new President. Menne has worked at the chamber for over seven years. Fairmont Schools launch ‘Community Days’ Last week Fairmont Area Schools held the first of its Cardinal Community Days, a new program that allows students in the district to work more independently. Students can opt to do school work from home or remain in the school building to get extra help from teachers. These days also provide opportunities for community members to come in and put on specialized programming. CREST celebrates 25 years with open house Volunteer organization CREST recently celebrated 25 years. At that time, four long-time volunteers were recognized and we’d also like to extend our thanks to them. Fun event serves as fundraiser Last weekend, Project 1590’s Kids Just Want to Have Fun committee hosted a mother-son event in Fairmont. What a great, annual event that allows for positive interactions between mothers and sons. FOH show centered on body positivity This weekend The Fairmont Opera House is putting on a unique community theater show. “The Most Massive Woman Wins” has a different subject matter that focuses on body issues. It’s also a black box style performance that allows for a more intimate experience between the small, local cast and audience.
