Farmers Market in Trimont to start summer season Trimont Farmer's Market will begin its summer season from 2:30-5:30 p.m. this Friday, May 31, at Anderson Park in Trimont, and will continue each week on Fridays through September. There will be a variety of vendors and coffee and goodies will be available for a free will donation as usual. Martin Luther to host golf benefit Golfers are invited to register for the Play It Again golf benefit sponsored by Martin Luther High School of Northrop that will be held Saturday, June 15, at Interlaken Golf Club, Fairmont. Rain date will be June 16. The event is a two-person best-ball tournament with registration beginning 12:15 p.m. and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. $100 cold cash give-away and prizes will be awarded after the meal. Paddle Friends to launch tonight Those involved in the paddling friends group will meet 6 p.m. tonight, May 28, at the dock area on Lake Aires Road on the south end of Fairmont. The group will launch into Amber Lake and will try their tradition of going through the culvert to Mud and Bardwell Lakes. Red Rock to host Memorial Day picnic Red Rock Center for the Arts will host their annual Memorial Day Picnic and Family Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 27. Indoors enjoy pulled pork sandwiches or hot dog meal and patriotic songs by Fairmont elementary students and Steve Lang's Country Show. East Chain plans Memorial Day events The 129th annual East Chain Memorial Day observance will be held Monday, May 27, at the East Chain Activity Center (old school building), rural East Chain. Coffee and donuts will be served 8:45 a.m., with the program getting underway around 9:30 a.m. Following the program, they will be honoring their deceased veterans at the dam in East Chain. After that, the 4-H Honor Guard will hold a wreath and cross ceremony along with a firing squad salute and the playing of ‘Taps’ at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
