MCA’s Cole vaults to 18th place at state

ST. PAUL — Martin County Area freshman Hannah Cole made her Class A individual state gymnastics debut a good one on Saturday.

Cole converted her pike Tsuk into an 18th-place finish with a score of 9.3 out of the competition’s first rotation at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.

Blue Earth Area senior Addison Armstrong closed out her stellar prep gymnastics career by placing 44th on the balance beam (7.925) and finishing 46th on the floor exercise (8.6).

North Branch junior Dakota Esget fended off Worthington senior Hali Bullerman for the Class A individual state championship in the all-around competition on Saturday.

Esget, who struck gold on the uneven parallel bars with a winning score of 9.5, earned the all-around state crown with a total of 37.6.

Bullerman, who captured top state honors on the floor exercise with a 9.6, claimed runner-up all-around accolades behind Esget with a score of 37.25.

Bullerman pocketed fourth on the vault (9.425), ninth on the uneven bars (9.125) and claimed 11th place on the balance beam (9.1).
