CEYLON — Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have their 5:30 p.m. communion service tonight, May 4. The next service will be May 18 and they invite all to their Bible study every Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m.

During the month of May, Circle of Faith parishes are gathering for Sunday services at 9 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome and 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. They are planning a confirmation service at First Lutheran on May 5. The parishes are planning an Ascension Day picnic beginning 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, at Cedar Hanson County Park in Trimont. First Lutheran in Trimont will be the site for the CREST Lunch & Learn on May 15. Trinity in Welcome has plans for their 150th anniversary with a joint service and light lunch on May 19. Mark your calendars and plan to attend.

Condolences to the family of Steve Schultze from rural Ceylon who passed away recently. He was active in the Sons of the Legion, Wilbert Church and more. Family and friends will miss him greatly. Gone too soon.

American Red Cross blood drives will be held in Fairmont, on May 16 at Grace Lutheran Church, on May 20 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church and on May 24 at the Live Fit Gym. Tuesday coffee hours for May begin 8:30-10 a.m. May 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for coffee, goodies and great fellowship each Tuesday.

Ceylon Clean Up Day is planned for May 18 with curbside pick up only. Contact Ceylon City Hall for tags for the items to be picked up. Get rid of the items that would be an ordinance violation now and avoid a citation.

St. John’s Lutheran in Sherburn has arranged bus trips for different locations in the past and they are arranging a bus trip from August 18-24 to Kentucky’s Ark Encounter and Creation Museum with stops along the way to other interesting sites.
