TRUMAN — The Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman Jaguars reached the halfway mark of their regular season on Friday night by hosting the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes in a prep football game.

“We wanted to establish the run,” Roorda said. “Ultimately we shut down their run. They were big, but our speed helped us run the ball.”
The Jaguars also used a tough defense, forcing the Coyotes into three turnovers. GHEC/Truman blocked a punt that resulted in a safety and finished with six quarterback sacks with more than a dozen tackles for loss.
“Our defense was outstanding tonight,” Roorda said. “They were quick to the ball.”
They had a shutout until the Coyotes scored on the final play of a game, Aiden Lorenzen’s 7-yard run.
