PREP SOFTBALL

WELCOME — The Martin County West softball team used a nine run first inning to defeat Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther 14-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Fox Lake Area Sports Complex. Maverick pitchers Maddie Carlson and Sydney Clow each tossed two innings in the circle, while Rowan Faber threw one. Carlson finished with six strikeouts and Clow tallied one. Faber went 3-4 at the plate with a double and a triple, picking up two RBIs. Lillie Schultz had two hits and two RBIs. Emily Schettler had a three-RBI triple, while Addy Wohlhuter and Emma Geldart each had two hits. Baily Larson finished with one hit and one RBI.
