Christmas concerts tonight at school

TRUMAN — Tonight, Dec. 8, the Christmas concerts will be held at Truman Public School. Grades K-5 will perform at 6:30 p.m., while grades 6-12 will perform at 7:45 p.m. Hope to see you there.

Truman High School trap team meat raffle begins 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Aardvarks Bar and Grill.

Soup and sandwich luncheon by the Lewisville Legion Auxiliary will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10. Enjoy chili, potato soup, vegetable beef soup, egg salad or hot turkey sandwich. Santa will also be present.

Happy anniversary to our mayor Terry Bentele and his wife Becky. Dec. 12th is their day to celebrate.

Truman Active Living group will meet 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Truman Museum. You are welcome to join them.

Please join Truman Toys for Tots in helping needy children. If you would like to give to our local Toys for Tots, just drop your unwrapped donation off at Boeketts or Elizabeth Chevrolet before noon on Dec. 13. Remember teenagers need gifts also. 4-H STEM learning with Hannah Neal for kids in grade 3-8 will be held 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, in the back room of the Truman Public Library. It is free, fun learning activities and free snacks. You do not have to be in 4-H to enjoy this event. If you have questions, call Theresa at (507) 776-2717.

Adult coloring sessions are held 1:30-5:30 p.m. every Thursday in December at the Truman Library. Come color and relax during the busy season.

Thank you to all that were involved in the craft show, chili luncheon and bake sale on Saturday.

You have until Thursday, Dec. 15, to donate to the hungry this season by dropping off non-perishable goods at any Martin County Library for the Read & Feed program.

It’s time to send out Christmas cards to family, friends and those serving our country. Opening one’s mailbox and finding a thoughtful, personal piece of correspondence is more exciting than ever. So please, don’t stop spreading that Christmas cheer.

At 5 p.m. on Dec. 17, our local firefighters will be putting on a Parade of Lights. If you would like to be included, contact Dave Bentz at (507) 236-2749 or send a message on Facebook.

Before or after the parade from 4-6 p.m., please join the Truman Lions for hotdogs, chips, coffee, hot chocolate and treats with the help of Truman Pride at the Truman Community Building.
