Push-in ceremony Saturday

WELCOME – Congratulations to the new Welcome Fire Chief, Jay Mulso. Thank you to all the firefighters for your service to the community/area. The Welcome Fire Department will have a traditional push-in ceremony for the new rescue truck beginning 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19. As a thank you to area residents for their continuing support, they will have a lunch from noon to 3 p.m. with a pork sandwich, etc. Area residents may see the new truck and

meet the firefighters and rescue squad. The push-in ceremony comes from the days long ago when the horse drawn pumpers needed to be pushed back into the bay after use.

Congratulations to the candidates that won their election bid in Welcome. The new mayor is Dan Schmidtke who was elected for a two-year term. City council members elected were Kim Holm (incumbent) and Lynda Stauter. They will serve four years. Make sure you let your elected representatives know about any concerns or praise about City governance done or expected.
