Patricia M. Gimm
ZIMMERMAN — Patricia Mae Gimm, 96, passed away on June 9 at 3:50 p.m. at her home in Fremont Village in Zimmerman, Minn., surrounded by her family and precious caregivers.
Patricia (Patty) was born in Mason City, Iowa, on Aug. 7, 1929, the daughter of Laura C. Miller Otto and Arthur W. Otto. She graduated from St. Mary’s Hall in Faribault, Minn., in 1947. Shortly after graduation, she was united in marriage to Richard Carl Gimm on Oct. 23, 1947, in Shakopee, Minn.
A devoted member of her community, Patricia resided for many years in Fairmont, Minn., where she was an active member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, holding numerous positions within the church and the broader community. She was also a dedicated member of the Chapter Y P.E.O. for 50 years.
She was a beloved mother to Susanna Jones; her son, Thomas (Christine) Gimm; She adored her granddaughter, Shawna (Jeremy) Gass; and had a special bond with her great-grandchildren, Parker and Weston Gass. She is also survived by her sister/cousins, Sherilyn Lawrence and Judy Carter, sister-in-law Barbara (Gimm) Beaver, Alice Gimm (sister-in-law).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Carl Gimm; her parents, Laura and Arthur Otto; her guardians Hazel and Gary Martin, her uncle Lloyd Herman Miller, her brother-in-law, DeArv Gimm; brother-in-law Verlon Prafke, sister-in-law Shirley Gimm and many other extended family members.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Fairmont. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Memorials can go to Dollars for Scholars or Shattuck St. Mary’s in Faribault, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with the arrangements.
