Legion Auxiliary meets Monday
WELCOME — Welcome Legion Auxiliary will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Welcome Legion Hall. All members are urged to attend. Memorial Day plans and other business will be discussed.
Memorial Day program will be held 9 a.m. Monday, May 30, at the Welcome Legion Hall in Welcome. Ron Bettin will be the speaker. All veterans are especially invited and their families. This is a good day to remember those who have kept our country free.
There will be a special unveiling of the 36 painted hog statues to celebrate ‘Going Hog Wild in Martin County’ from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in downtown Fairmont. See what each town had painted on their hog statue and enjoy a pork chop on a stick. Also, meet the 15 artists and sponsors and cheer on the hog for Welcome. The statue will be placed in the park in Welcome after Memorial Day. Until then, all the statues may be seen on First Street in Fairmont. • Welcome Historical Society Museum will be open from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 4.
• American Red Cross blood drive will be held 1-7 p.m. June 6, at the Regional Worship Center just south of I 90 in Sherburn. There are spots open for donations and the need for blood is urgent. Please donate blood. Masks are now optional. Appointments are recommended and each donation may help three people live.
