Welcome Clean Up Day on Saturday
WELCOME — Clean Up Day in Welcome will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. or whenever the truck is full on Saturday, April 25. This is for Welcome residents only. Tags must be on electronics and appliances. Items can be dropped off at the truck behind the Fire Hall/Water Tower on Campbell Street.
The burn site will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 25. Wood smaller than six inches in diameter, tree trimmings, brush and grass clippings are accepted. Thanks for your cooperation. Sump pumps should be directed to lawns or storm sewers.
A Celebration of Life gathering for Larry Puhrman will be from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, the Welcome Legion Hall. They will remember a teacher, coach and helpful citizen from Welcome.
St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn will host a combined service and call meeting with its partner congregation St. Paul’s in Wilbert at 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 26. The Wilbert congregation will not have a service on Sunday.
Thr Lake Promenaders square dance club will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, at 804 West 1st Street in Welcome. Dancers and watchers are welcome.
A Welcome Summer Festival Committee meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, at the Legion Park in Welcome. Discussion about what to do, how to pay for the Welcome Summer Festival and for further years in the future. Jon Auringer is spearheading the meeting, but would like many others to join. Hopefully there will be more meetings. Plan to attend.
The Tuesday April Coffee Hours will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. Free-will donations will be accepted. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee, treats and fellowship. Coffee Hours on Tuesdays in May will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome.
American Red Cross blood drives will be from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 27, at Martin Luther High School in Northrop, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, May 18, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Blood supply is extremely low, so donate blood if you are eligible (ages 16 or older, weigh 110 pounds or more and in good health). Thank you.

The Interlaken Heritage Days Spring Craft and Vendor Show will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the National Guard Armory in Fairmont.
The Welcome Legion Auxiliary will have a Vendor Show from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 2, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Welcome/St. Paul’s Community Church. A breakfast will be served for a free will donation.

Waverly Lutheran Church in Trimont will host a gathering on the evening of Tuesday, May 5, to hear Bishop Dee Pederson, who will talk about her trip to South Africa and the companion synod.
