Lunch and Learn today

SHERBURN — There is an American Red Cross blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Best Western Motel (formerly Holiday Inn) in Fairmont. There is a blood drive scheduled for Feb. 21 in Trimont, and on Feb. 28, there is a blood

drive planned in Welcome. For further information and to locate upcoming blood drives in the area and what time slots are available, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), go online to www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999. There is an unprecedented need for blood right now due to COVID protocol and weather, students not in school, and other reasons. Some elective surgeries, transplants, etc., are not being held due to low blood supplies. Give if you can. One donation may save three lives. Thank

you.

Condolences to the family of former Sherburn resident, Vicki (Manning) Krug, who passed away. She will be missed.

CREST will sponsor a Lunch and Learn beginning 11 a.m. today at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont. The program is ways to kick cabin fever for the remainder of the winter. Homemade soup and a sandwich and a yummy Valentine’s Day dessert will be the lunch.

There will be a special ’Hoops for the Heart’ on Friday in Trimont as a memorial for former Sherburn athlete Karson Janssen. All proceeds will go to a memorial scholarship or to the American Heart Association. Plan now to attend.

The Sherburn Theatre will have a new release “DOG” as the movie featured for this coming weekend, Feb. 18-20, and next weekend, Feb. 25-27. Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
