Fairmont Roofing offers holiday cheer

FAIRMONT — One local business is making sure that families or individuals who may be struggling, receive some cheer this holiday season. For the first time this year, Fairmont Roofing is doing a “Season of Giving.”

Jessica Lemperes, Integrator at Fairmont Roofing, said when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in the spring, they weren’t sure what the future would hold for the company.

“Things were uncertain for some time. Thankfully, our season turned around and we ended up having a great year. We realize that isn’t the case for everyone, so we wanted to give back to our community,” Lemperes said.

She said Fairmont Roofing’s owner, Marcus Eytcheson, employee Kristeena Thisus and herself got together to brainstorm ideas of what they could do to help those who had been impacted.

They decided to start by offering a Thanksgiving Day meal box.

“They will contain everything you need for a Thanksgiving Day meal, from the turkey to the pie,” Lemperes said.

They will get the items from a local grocery store, pack the boxes and deliver them for the families or individuals to prepare.

The business is taking nominations for area families or individuals though its website: www.fairmontroofing.com. There people will find a link to a nomination form. They will be accepting applications through Nov. 15th. Meals will be delivered Nov. 23rd.

“We are looking to the community to nominate the people they are aware of that may need a little cheer this holiday season. We know that some struggle with asking for help and we really want to find those people or families,” Lemperes said.

Originally, Lemperes said they were thinking about proving the meals to 10-15 families or individuals, but that the response has already been overwhelming. She said they plan to adjust in order to accommodate the nominations. So far, people have nominated neighbors, co-workers, friends and acquaintances.

Lemperes said they plan to continue with the Season of Giving though Christmas and plan to announce details about a Christmas Giving Tree in the near future.

“Please be thinking of families who could use a little holiday cheer,” Lemperes said.
