Contest winners named in Ceylon
CEYLON — Don’t forget to turn your clocks back tonight or early Sunday morning to return to regular central time from Daylight Savings Time. At least we get another hour of sleep.

Thank you to city of Ceylon for sponsoring a decorated pumpkin contest and allowing them to be displayed at the old city hall building.
Congratulations to the three first place winners of the contest. Jonathan Schimmel was the ages 3-7 winner; Dakota Reisendorfer was the ages 8-11 winner; and Tyler Strong was the ages 12-15 winner.
A special thank you to Chris Griffin, who organized the contest and displayed the pumpkins so well.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will have its usual Saturday evening service 5:30 p.m. tonight.
They will also have their fellowship potluck supper and voters meeting following the service. All members are urged to attend.

There will be a blood drive from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Monday at Martin Luther High School in Northrop.
There also will be a blood drive in Sherburn from 1-6 p.m. Nov. 11 at Regional Worship Center.

The ladies at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon will meet 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. All members are encouraged to attend.

Bible study sessions continue 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon.

Coffee lovers group meets 8:30-10 a.m. each Thursday at Legends 2 in Ceylon. Area residents are welcome to join them for great brew and good fellowship.

Friendly Neighbors Card Club will meet 1:30 p.m. Friday at the home of Kathryn Detert. All members are encouraged to attend.

Tuesday, Nov. 5, is election day so don’t forget to vote. City of Ceylon residents vote from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall.
Township residents vote from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Lake Belt Township votes at the grater shed; Lake Fremont Township votes at the Dunnell Community Hall; Silver Lake Township votes at the Boy Scout Camp; and Tenhassen Township votes at its town hall.

Cribbage tournament play is starting up again. Play will be held 1:30 p.m. the second Saturday of each month beginning Nov. 9 at Legends 2 in Ceylon.
They will also play 1:30 p.m. the third Saturday of each month beginning Nov. 16 at the Welcome Legion.
