The 2019 Relay for Life committee meeting and team captain’s meeting will be 5:30 p.m. Jan. 7 in the east/west meeting room at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont.

Affidavits of candidacy for township elections may be filed with the clerk of each township from Jan. 1-15.

Most townships need one or two supervisors and a treasurer. Think about serving at this grass roots level of government.

Welcome/Sherburn Shop with a Cop program to help children in need shop for gifts for their families was a big success. This is the second year they helped the children of these communities.

The generous donations were greatly appreciated by the officers and children. What a good way to build good feelings in the communities and rapport with law enforcement personnel.

The next Welcome City Council meeting will be 6 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Legion. All members are urged to attend.
