Bramstedt benefit slated

SHERBURN — Grilled hamburgers will be served 6-8 p.m. tonight at the Sherburn American Legion. All are welcome.

CREST and Temperance Lake Ridge are sponsoring the “Lunch and Learn” program and meal at 11 a.m. today at the Senior Citizens Center in Sherburn.

The Society of the Deaf and Blind will be there to describe the many services they provide for the blind and hard of hearing. They will have information on hearing aids, amplifiers, telephone and warning systems.

Following the presentation, there will be a lunch, for a donation, including vegetable beef or wild rice soup, chicken sandwiches and apple pie. Everyone is welcome.

The monthly ribeye steak and shrimp night will be held Saturday evening at the Sherburn American Legion. They will grill and serve from 5-8 p.m. that night. The public is invited.

The benefit for Mint Bramstedt postponed from last weekend will be held 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the cafeteria at Martin County West High School in Sherburn.

Mint is a high school junior student at MCW and was involved in a serious car accident in October. Proceeds from the event will help pay for travel and medical expenses from her stay and surgeries in Rochester.

Sherburn Lions Club and the Martin County West FFA are sponsoring the event.

Irene Lutterman of Sherburn will celebrate her 97th birthday Friday. In honor of her birthday, coffee and cake will be served from 2-4 p.m. at Temperance Lake Ridge. Friends are invited to stop by for a visit. Come wish a happy birthday to a truly special Sherburn resident.

Darwin Anthony of Trimont will be honored at a retirement open house from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday at Farmers State Bank of Trimont. Darwin first became an employee of the bank in 1960. Stop by to wish him well.

A band concert will be held beginning 7:30 p.m. Monday at Martin County West High School in Sherburn. Both the junior high and senior high bands will perform. Everyone is welcome.

Need to get some exercise during the cold winter months? There is open swimming from 1-4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday at the Sherburn indoor pool. Fitness swimming will be held 6-8 a.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Also, water aerobics will be held 7-8 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Water aerobics is a self-directed swimming program and no registration is required.
