Honor Society ceremony set

SHERBURN — A three-meat buffet will be served 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Sherburn. The three meats include Swedish meatballs, turkey and ham.

There will be a free will offering at the door, with a suggested donation of $8.

The church is handicap-accessible. All are welcome.

An open house bridal shower for Shawna Dressen, bride-to-be of Brad Richter, will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Shawna is the daughter of Chuck and Sandy Dressen. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

Martin County West National Honor Society reception and induction ceremony will be March 21 at the high school gym in Sherburn. The reception will begin at 8:15 a.m., with the induction held around 9:05 a.m.

Summer ball registration forms have been distributed throughout all MCW schools. Please stop by the school office if your child didn’t bring one home. The deadline to register for summer ball is March 16.

“Fitness Classes by Mary” are once again being offered at MCW Elementary School in Sherburn. Gentle yoga will be 4:25-5:25 p.m. Mondays; chair yoga will be 3:30-4:15 p.m. Thursdays; and Pilates Barre will be offered 4:25-5:25 p.m. Thursdays.

There is open gym time from 2-4 p.m. Sundays at the high school gym in Sherburn. Also, men’s night will be held 7 p.m. each Wednesday at the high school gym. All are welcome.

MCW drama department will present its spring play “Arsenic and Old Lace” from April 6-8 at the Sherburn Theatre in Sherburn. Make plans now to attend.

Sherburn Lions Club will have a prime rib supper 5-8 p.m. April 7 at the Sherburn American Legion Club. Tickets can be purchased before the supper for $17 or $20 at the door on the evening of the event. Tickets are available from any Lions Club member or at Bank Midwest in Sherburn, Amborn Lumber in Sherburn or Fairmont Photo Press in Fairmont.

Proceeds will help support community projects.
