Abdiqaadir Dayib Ahmed, 45, of Pelican Rapids was convicted of domestic assault-commits act to cause fear of immediate bodily harm or death; fined $460, sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 70 days for one year, credit for time served 20 days, one year supervised probation, can do STS for fines, contact probation officer as directed, complete and pay for comprehensive assessment within 60 days of sentencing and follow all recommendations in a timely manner, must sign all releases for assessor to obtain collateral information from assigned probation agent(s), assigned social worker(s) if any, mental health treatment provider(s) if any, relevant family/household members and recent treatment providers as part of their assessment, must successfully complete the level of treatment and aftercare recommended rather than choosing a lesser level of care, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, complete domestic violence program, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed. Additional charge of domestic assault-subsequent violation was dismissed.

Sarah K. Schaefer, 49, of Kiester was convicted of disorderly conduct-offensive/abusive/noisy/obscene; fined $160, sentenced to jail three days, credit for time served three days. Additional charges of fifth-degree assault-inflict or attempt bodily harm, and domestic assault-intentionally attempts to inflict bodily harm on another, were both dismissed.

Matthew R. Mattin, 37, of Winnebago was convicted of fourth-degree driving while impaired; fined $485, sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 74 days for one year, credit for time served 16 days, one year supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, attend MADD impact panel, follow all recommendations of the comprehensive assessment completed 5/1/23, cooperate with the peer recovery specialist referral, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives if prohibited by law. Additional charge of criminal vehicular operation-bodily harm any amount of schedule I or II controlled substance was dismissed.
