Allen Jensen headlines Sundaes in the Park June 26

Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the sounds of good toe tapping music and heart singing beginning 6 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Memorial Park in Trimont. Allen and Nancy bring a special style of music and remembrance you will not want to miss. And who could resist an ice cream sundae with chocolate, caramel, peanuts and/or strawberry toppings. Free will donations are welcome. Bring your family and friends.

Blood drive planned Monday in Elmore

There will be an American Red Cross blood drive from 1-7 p.m. Monday, June 27, at United Methodist Church, 311 E. Mondale St. in Elmore. To make an appointment, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), go online at redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999. Blood is extremely needed now. One donation may save three lives. Patent Pending Players to offer summer play

Patent Pending Players will present their summer play under the direction of Natalie Henriksen. The play will be performed at the Community Hall (Home of Patent Pending Players) at the intersection of Highway 9 and P20 between Swea City and Armstrong. The play will be presented 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, and a 4 p.m. matinee and 7 p.m. performance on Thursday, June 30. Tickets are available from cast members or by calling (515) 320-2226. Leave a message. Tickets may also be purchased at the door but are subject to availability. All are welcome to attend.

Cayden Fischer of Truman and Gaven Bruellman of Blue Earth, who both attend Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, were recognized as student-athletes and named to the 2022 spring academic all-conference team for the American Rivers Conference.
