Prairie Star Quilters to hold meeting

Prairie Star Quilt Guild will meet Monday at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave., Fairmont. The guild board will meet at 12:30 p.m., with the regular membership meeting at 1:30 p.m. Debra Engman will present her past guild president quilt pattern. Show and Share will follow. The evening group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Membership is open to anyone who enjoys quilting. Quilters of all skill levels are welcome. For more information, contact Carolyn Seidel at (507) 848-0481.

Library to host gentle yoga for adults

Martin County Library will host Gentle Yoga from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday at the library in Fairmont. The class will be taught by Tam Plumhoff, certified yoga instructor. Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat or beach towel. There is no cost to attend and no registration is required.

55 Alive driving course offered

Mark Fujan of State Farm Insurance will offer a free 55 Alive/Defensive Driving Course on Tuesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Fairmont. Tax and legal tips will begin at 4 p.m., with the class starting at 4:30 p.m. Pre-registration is requested. There is limited seating, so those interested are asked to call as soon as possible to register. Drivers 55 and older can save money on their auto insurance by attending the course. Lindsey Jacobs of Blue Earth was named to the dean’s list for the 2019 fall term at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.
