St. Jude fundraiser rescheduled

The Cruisin for St. Jude Patriot Day event originally planned for Wednesday will now be held 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the city park in Armstrong. Those interested may bring their cars, trucks, bikes, tractors, etc. Everyone is invited.

Ruby’s Pantry plans food distribution

Ruby’s Pop-Up Pantry, a community food outreach program, will hold a food distribution Monday at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. Registration begins at 5 p.m., with food distribution from 6-7:30 p.m. There are no income or residency guidelines. Ruby’s Pantry is funded by the $20 cash donation per participant for operational costs. Bring two large boxes, totes or laundry baskets for the food. Valley Quilters set Monday meeting

Blue Earth Valley Quilters will meet 7 p.m. Monday in the Blue Earth Area High School choir room. Enter through door “V” on the south side of the building. The main program will feature discussions about possible quilting retreats. The group meets the third Monday of each month (no meeting in December). Alpha church to host pie social

Trinity Lutheran Church in Alpha will host its annual pie social from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the church located at 225 Main St., Alpha. Besides the many homemade pies, the menu will include barbecue sandwiches, homemade potato salad, chips, homemade pickles, homegrown tomatoes, lemonade and coffee. Proceeds will be used to support area charities and mission projects. Everyone is welcome.

Dollars for Scholars set annual meeting

Fairmont Chapter of Dollars for Scholars will hold its annual meeting 7 p.m. Wednesday in room 158 (CER room) at Fairmont Elementary School. Enter through door 15A. A copy of the organization’s annual report is available upon request.
