Kid’s fishing derby cancelled this weekend

Due to unsafe water conditions around Gomsrud Park, the Kid’s All-American Fishing Derby and Casting Contest that was scheduled for Saturday morning has been cancelled. Details are being worked out for another date to hold the event.

Relay for Life meeting Monday in Fairmont

A Martin County Relay for Life team captain’s and committee meeting will be held 5:30 p.m. Monday in the main meeting room at Mayo Clinic Health System hospital in Fairmont. All pertinent members are encouraged to attend.

Fairmont Community blood drive slated

American Red Cross will hold a Fairmont Community Blood Drive from 12:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the Budd Room at the Fairmont Holiday Inn. All presenting donors will receive a $5 Amazon.com gift card via email. For appointments, call (800) 733-2767 or online at www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code FAIRMONTMN. Eligible donors are asked to make a resolution to give blood to help ensure a stable and diverse blood supply. Blood donors of all types are needed.

Bridal shower slated next weekend in Trimont

An open house bridal shower in honor of Hayley Faber, bride-to-be of AJ Sowieja of Le Center, will be held 1-3 p.m. June 8 at the residence of Steve and Deb Olson, 551 Main St. W. in Trimont. Hayley is the daughter of Donny and Dawn Faber of Sherburn. Family and friends are invited.
