Area Roundup: North Union girls secure victory over West Hancock

BRITT, Iowa – The North Union Warriors secured a 46-24 victory over West Hancock In a Top of Iowa Conference basketball game Friday night.
Leading the Warriors was Ainsley Ulrich with 22 points, while Maisey Bierstedt had 13 points and 13 rebounds and Shallie Walders 5 points, three rebounds, five assists and three steals.
The Warriors head to Belmond-Klemme for their next game at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

WEST HANCOCK 79, NORTH UNION 59
BRITT, Iowa – The North Union Warriors fell to West Hancock 79-59 Friday night in a Top of Iowa Conference boys basketball game.
Leading North Union was Khael Jones with 28 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Caden Walders had 11 points, four assists and four steals. Greyson Colegrove added 8 points, four rebounds and three steals, while Cole Nicoson had 5 points, six rebounds and three steals.
North Union Travels to Belmond-Klemme for a 5 p.m. game on Tuesday.

NICOLLET – The Granada-Huntley East Chain/Truman Jaguars fell to the Nicollet Raiders in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Valley division game Friday night.
Leading the Jaguars was Jackson Madsen with 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Bryce Borkenhagen added 9 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. Carson Hastad had 8 points and six rebounds, while Brody Grathwohl had 7 points, six assists and four rebounds and Reagan Emmert added 6 points.
The Jaguars head to Madelia for a 7 p.m. game on Thursday.

ALDEN – The Martin County West Mavericks (3-2) cruised by Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons Thursday night 71-51 in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Valley Division game Thursday night.
Up 32-22 at the half, the Mavericks continued to expand on the lead in the second half to secure the win.
Leading the Mavericks was Jacob Wilmes, who had a triple-double with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. Kale Larson had 14 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Lucas Larson 6 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
