TRIMONT — The Martin County West Mavericks girls basketball team’s varsity game’s tipoff will be at 6:30 p.m. tonight against Alden-Conger in Trimont.

Cardinals fall in B-squad tilt

FAIRMONT — The Blue Earth Area Bucs defeated the Fairmont Cardinals, 30-17, during B-squad girls basketball action Thursday night in Fairmont.

Chloe Murphy scored seven points to top the Cardinals, while teammate Jen Moeller added four points.

8th-grade hoops split with BEA

FAIRMONT — Fairmont’s 8th-grade ‘A ‘basketball team lost to Blue Earth Area while the Cardinals’ ‘B’ team pocketed a win on Monday.

Thomas Klanderud scored 11 points in the ‘B’ team’s 17-8 win over the Bucs in a shortened game. Tanner Rosch netted four points.

The Cardinals’ ‘A’ team fell to Blue Earth Area, 45-31. The Bucs had a 25-13 lead at halftime.

Jackson Francis led the Cardinals with 11 points, and Jackson Utermarck notched nine points. Jacob Melsha recorded five points.
