Let’s turn up the heat To the Editor: Well, they fooled us. The Gang of Three, back in July, felt the heat and publicly promised to back off their vendetta against Fairmont city administrator Mike Humpal. They said they were done sowing division and discord. They told us they were going to keep their heads down and concentrate on doing the business of the city. Until Monday night, that is. That’s when they got around to dropping the hammer. No reason, no explanation, no comment at all, just boom. We’re left wondering just exactly what grounds they have for running Humpal off. ...

Feehan can connect To the Editor: Curiosity, compassion and connection. These are characteristics we should all be looking for in a congressional representative. Someone who is curious about issues and people’s lives, and is driven to learn more about both. Someone who has compassion for all individuals and will work to make their lives better. Less success awaits him To the Editor: Dan Feehan spent the entire 2018 campaign trying to portray himself as one thing here in Minnesota while cozying up to all the uber-liberal donors from outside Minnesota who funded 75% of his campaign, and now he’s already playing the same game. First, Dan says he’s in favor of the impeachment inquiry. That’s because if he doesn’t, he’ll lose the millions that will flow into his campaign coffers from far-left donors across the country. Using wipers? Turn your lights on To the Editor: I am a retired safety director. I notice safety items not only in places of work, but also how in how people get to and from work. One item I worked with was a law most states, including Minnesota and Iowa, have: when windshield wipers are being used, then headlights are to be on. Not daytime running lights. A state trooper has said, “Headlights in the law means not only your headlights but also tail lights.” Today (Oct. 2), on Highway 15 between Walmart and Truman, I met more than 40 cars that did not have their headlights ...

To the Editor: The criticism of my insulin video is an unwarranted attempt to stifle the much needed discussion at the Capitol on insulin pricing and government’s push to nationally socialize medicine. People are dying by rationing their expensive insulin. It is important to discuss all possible solutions and not disregard an idea experts agree can be part of a life-saving solution.
