Community ‘Christmas Carol’ reading To the Editor: Last Thursday evening, a group of six people shared reading the Charles Dicken’s story, “A Christmas Carol” to an attentive audience. The reading took place at the Red Rock Center for the Arts. The purpose of the reading is to raise funds for the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf in Fairmont. Meals on Wheels needing help To the Editor: Fairmont Hot Meals on Wheels is seeking a group or groups willing to deliver meals Monday through Friday, Feb. 16-28, 2022, for a total of nine days. The meals are picked up 11:30 a.m. at Ingleside. There are 4 routes requiring 4 drivers. There are multiple options for filling this need. It could be filled by one group, business or church. Or, it could be filled by 4 individual groups, businesses or churches, willing to take one route each day. How is electricity generated? To the Editor: The recent article in the paper about the charging stations for electric vehicles made me wonder, where will the electricity come from? Out here in the Midwest we have several sources: coal, nuclear, natural gas, solar and wind. Some people would have us quickly eliminate coal and nuclear and eventually natural gas. Each of those have pros and cons while solar and wind are considered renewable with no pollution.
