Grateful for support with writing book
To the Editor:
My book, “Martin County Veterans – Their Sacrifices, Our Freedom,” honoring the military service of Martin County veterans was recently released. In that respect, I would like to acknowledge and thank Pat Garry, and the Garry family, for their generous financial support provided in bringing this project to fruition. The late Michael Garry had a keen interest and respect for local history and spent a great deal of time with me discussing, reviewing, and teaching me about Martin County’s history. Michael, and the Garry family, are to be commended for their dedication and support of Martin County and its colorful and interesting history.
I would also like to thank Liz Wheeler for her expertise provided in editing the book. In addition, I would like to thank the MCHS staff members, Dona Paris and Jim Marushin, and the Martin County Historical Society Board of Directors for their support and assistance with this endeavor.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge and thank the 72 Martin County veterans that provided stories for this book. Without their unselfish military service and their willingness to submit their experiences, this book could not have been written.
