Threshing Day successful To the Editor: Threshing Day 2022 at Heritage Acres in Fairmont was a very successful day with perhaps the best attendance the event has ever had. It was a great day for honoring three of our founding members who passed away: Lola Talledge, John Hilgendorf, and Ted Kittleson. We want to sincerely thank the public for coming out and enjoying the live music with the Leon Olsen Show, the threshing, and the many other activities we had. To The Editor: August 9th is a doubly important date for our democracy. It’s a chance to vote in a special congressional election and a primary election. First District voters have a clear choice for Congress: Jeff Ettinger. Jeff Ettinger is the candidate who will work to end the divisiveness in Washington and with his business experience, will do his best to combat rising prices. ‘Strong’ community Center concept presented To the Editor: Thank You Citizens 4 a Strong Fairmont. Your presented concept for a Martin County Community Center, by rejuvenating the SMEC Building, was well thought-out and effectively presented at the Fairmont City Council meeting. All your efforts, research, ingenuity, listening, surveying and inclusion of citizens came through very positively and productively. Announcing Hay Day VBS To the Editor: Friday, Aug. 5, and Saturday, Aug. 6, Christian Church of Fairmont is having an amazing FREE event for kids, 3 years old to kids graduating 5th grade. It will be two days of worship, learning, fun, crafts, and food. Our theme this year is Hay Day “Growing in Friendship With Jesus!” On Friday, we will start at 5:30 p.m. with a free meal for the kids and we will be done for the night at 8 p.m. On Saturday, we will start at 9 a.m. then a lunch before the afternoon where will have a bouncy house set up and games and songs for a fun celebration ...
