Threshing Day successful
To the Editor:
Threshing Day 2022 at Heritage Acres in Fairmont was a very successful day with perhaps the best attendance the event has ever had. It was a great day for honoring three of our founding members who passed away: Lola Talledge, John Hilgendorf, and Ted Kittleson.
We want to sincerely thank the public for coming out and enjoying the live music with the Leon Olsen Show, the threshing, and the many other activities we had. Of course, we also want to thank the many people who helped put on such a successful event: the threshing crew, kitchen help, the pork chop cook, the thirty-plus entrants for the collector tractor show, all the vendors, the many volunteers acting as docents in the various buildings, Hawkins and CFS for sponsoring the pedal pull, Graham Tire for sponsoring the bounce houses, and the City of Fairmont park and street department. We also want to recognize Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council and Visit Fairmont for grants that allowed us to publicize the event and covered the gate fee so all attendees could attend for free. Our next event is our harvest festival on Sunday, Oct. 16. We hope to see you there.
