City-wide cleanup this Saturday

TRUMAN — Tonight, June 27, is the pop-up shop from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Truman Museum to see, order or get your Truman memorabilia. If you know what you want, you can also email your order to trumandays.mn@gmail.com.

The city-wide cleanup for residents of Truman ONLY will be from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 29, at the Prairieland solid waste facility located at 801 E. 5th St. N. in Truman. Items excepted at no cost are furniture, couches, chairs, patio furniture, bed frames, mattress, boxspring, dressers, cabinets, bikes, scrap iron and swing/slides. There will be a fee for electronics, appliances or any items that have a plug-in or have the cord removed. No tires or car batteries.

It’s farmers market time from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Graf Park in Truman. Vendors are welcome to come and sell. There is no charge to be a vendor. The power of produce program will be offered to Truman area youth and senior citizens this summer. The program encourages healthy eating by allowing the use of tokens to purchase fruits, vegetables, eggs and produce from their local farmers market and Granada gardens located at Nickerson’s Body Shop lot.

2024 Truman city-wide garage sales sign up is due by June 29h to Linda Meyer at 306 E. 5th St. N., Truman, MN 56088 or Denise Lewison at 114 N, 3rd Ave, E., Truman, MN 56088. Forms can also be emailed to edlewison@frontier.com. There is a $10 fee and money can be paid via cash, check or Venmo to @DeniseLewison. Truman City Council will be meet 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 1. All interested citizens are welcome to attend.

Come to the Truman Library every Wednesday at 3 p.m. for storytime. There is no cost to attend and no registration required.

Wednesday is recycling day. Recycling container should be curbside by 7 a.m. Be sure all items are cleaned and the cardboard broken down.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church annual salad luncheon will be held 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on July 17. There is a lift in the church and take-outs will be available.
