Trinity Lutheran hosts Friday cookie walk
TRUMAN — Truman Public School community fun night will be held 4:30-8 p.m. tonight, Dec. 1. Food, activities, book fair held in the library, bake sale, free holiday movie, pre-sale pies baked by Mr. Nass, outdoor evergreen pots and more. This is a fundraiser for the district.
A card shower honoring the 85th birthday of Allen Burnham of Truman is requested. He was born Dec. 2 1937. Cards and birthday wishes may be sent to him at 222 W. 2nd St. S., Truman, MN 56088.
The 25th annual Cookie Walk will be 8-10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 102 N. Seventh Ave. East in Truman. You can choose cookies, caramels, kringle, party mix, etc., and then pay for the items you choose by the pound. Containers will be provided. You can also enjoy goodies along with cider and coffee for a donation. This community event is a favorite for shoppers to stock up on Christmas baking.
Remember that the Truman High School trap team meat raffle begins 6 p.m. Friday evening, Dec. 2, at Aardvarks in Truman.
A holiday craft and home business bazaar will be held 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Truman Community Building. You will be able to shop among 16 vendors. There is also a bake sale and chili lunch. There will be many unique items to choose from.
St. John’s Antrim Lutheran Church seventh annual beef commercial meal will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in the church basement. They are offering to-go meals. You will receive your beef commercial, corn, coleslaw, and sugar cookie, all for a free-will donation.
Holiday craft for adults at the Truman Library will be held 2-5 p.m. the week of Dec. 5th. You will make an up-cycled book holiday tree. Library hours are from 1:30-5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. If you have any questions, call (507) 776-2717.
Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the Truman Municipal Building. The truth-in-taxation meeting begins at 6 p.m.
4-H Stem learning with Hannah Neal for kids in grades 3-8 will be held 3:30-4:30 p.m. today, Dec. 1, in the back room of the Truman Public Library. It is FREE, fun learning activities and free snacks. You do not have to be in 4-H to enjoy this event. It will also be held on December 13. If you have questions, call Theresa at (507) 776-2717.
Santa’s shopping spree for children in grades K-6 who are students at the Truman Public or parochial school, will be 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesday at the Truman Community Building. Gifts are 50 cents each. Please make your list so your child can be prepared. Several adults will be available to help younger children choose gifts. It is important kids have the learning experience by choosing their own gifts. The shopping spree is sponsored by the Truman Sorority.
Recycling day is Wednesday. Please place containers curbside by 7 a.m. and make sure to break down all cardboard boxes.
Soup and Sandwich Day by the Lewisville Legion Auxiliary will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 10. Santa will also be present. Enjoy chili, potato soup, vegetable beef soup, egg salad or hot turkey sandwich.
You have until Dec. 15 to donate to the hungry this season by dropping off non-perishable goods at any Martin County Library for the Read & Feed program.
