CEYLON — Congratulations to Wyatt and Jordan Burmeister, the new owners of the Bar and Grill in Ceylon (formerly Legends ll). The new name is now Lake Belt Bar and Grill and their first day was this week on Tuesday, July 19. Good luck and welcome to the Ceylon area business district.

Today, July 23, is the second or summer Ceylon Auction. This will be machinery only, no household items will be sold. Road work has begun in Ceylon so watch for construction on Main Street.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have a later time for their Sunday services. It will be 10:30 a.m. instead of 9:30 a.m. to accommodate the visiting pastor. Circle of Faith parishes are reminded that there is a 7 p.m. Wednesday evening service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. In August, this Wednesday service will be held at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome.

Tuesday coffee hours for July will be from 8:30-10 a.m. July 26, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, just south of I-90. This is the last coffee hours for July. Thursday Coffee Lovers group will continue to meet from 8:30-10 a.m. each Thursday in the back room at the former Legends ll, now the Lake Belt Bar and Grill. Thanks to the new owners for continuing this event.

Condolences to area families of Ardell Lindell and former Dunnell resident, John Danielson, who passed away this week. They will be missed.

It doesn’t seem possible that it’s almost August. Upcoming events next month include:

• St. Peter Lutheran ladies group will meet 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 3.

• Ceylon Museum open from 1-3 p.m. on Aug. 7.

• Ceylon City Council meeting is changed to Aug. 16 because of the election on Aug 9.

• Ceylon Legion will meet with Second District representatives on Aug. 9. All members are urged to attend this important meeting.
